President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Mr. Lamido Yuguda, as the new Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Yuguda whose appointment is coming after over two years of the suspension of the Substantive DG Mounir Gwarzo who was later removed as the DG of SE and Mary Uduk took over in acting Capacity.
Buhari’s request was contained in a letter read at plenary on Tuesday by President of Senate. Sen. Ahmad Lawan.
The letter reads: “Pursuant to Section 3 and 5(1) of the Investment and Securities Act 2007, I write to request for confirmation by the Senate, the appointment of the following four nominees as Director General and Commissioners of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
The president also sought confirmation of three nominees as full-time Commissioners of the Commission.
They are Reginald C. Karausa, Ibrahim D. Boyi and Obi Joseph.
Mr Lamido Yuguda from Gombe State is SEC Non-executive Commissioner a member of the board which was inaugurated in twenty nineteen.
