Federal Govt Okays N27.4bn For Works, FCT Ministries

The federal government has approved contracts worth a total sum of N27.4billion for projects in the Works and Housing, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) ministries.

This is even as the government approved the establishment of a Federal University of Health Sciences, as well as proposing a Bill for the enactment of the Civil Defence, Corrections, Fire, Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB).

The Ministers of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fasola (SAN); FCT, Mallam Mohammed Musa Bello; Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola; and the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, jointly disclosed this to State House correspondents after the weekly federal executive council (FEC) meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday.

Fashola said his ministry presented two memoranda, both of which were approved by the Council.

He said council approved the appointed of consultants to supervise the ongoing construction of the Bodo-Bonny Highway in Rivers State, as well as the construction of the Idah-Nsukka Road, linking Kogi and Enugu states, putting the cost of both projects at N27.067 billion.
