
President Muhammadu Buhari is likely to inaugurate the Ministers before the end of this week following the confirmation of the ministerial nominees by the senate.
The upper chamber after six days of the screening exercise on tuesday confirm the 43 ministerial nominees forwarded by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Senators voted yes for all the nominees whose names were announced by the senate president Ahmad Lawan, paving the way for President Buhari to swear them in.
Some Nigerians speculates that the president may inaugurate the ministers and assigned portfolio to them at the federal executive council meeting which is expected to take place on wenesday.
FEC meetings usually take place every Wednesday of the week, but the presidency is yet to announce if the nominees will be inaugurated this week.
Meanwhile The Presidency has praised the diligence of the Senate in confirming the ministerial nominees, whilst also ensuring a swift and efficient process.
The Senior Special Assistant to the president on media and publicity Garba Shehu says, the people of Nigeria want results, and with this list of ministers, we are confident they shall be delivered.
Shehu noted that Specific portfolios shall be assigned with the inauguration of the cabinet.
The media aide in the statement added that the
executive approaches the 9th National Assembly with a renewed spirit of openness and enthusiasm.
The media aide explained that with a new swathe of national legislators and ministers, we are confident the executive and the legislature can – in partnership – unleash the change Nigerians deserve.
