Five die, 39 vehicles razed, 150 people displaced in Lagos pipeline explosion

No fewer than Five bodies including that of a mother and her child have so far recovered from a raging fire from the explosion of a vandalised NNPC pipeline in Ilepo/ Ekoro area of Lagos.

The incident has caused panic among residents within Awori, U-turn and Pipeline communities in Abule Egba axis.

The Director General, Lagos State emergency management agency, Olufemi Oke- Osanyitolu who confirmed this in a statement says that officials of LASEMA, NEMA and the LAGOS fire service are responding and on top of the situation.

According to NEMA spokesperson Ibrahim Farinloye there is no estimate on buildings affected yet butSeveral articulated vehicles were affected by the inferno. NNPC safety unit are approaching from Mosimi to put out the fire.
