
Lagos State has recorded its first rain of the year 2023 on Sunday, 22nd of January, thus reducing the unbearable heat wave.
The rainfall started at about 5:35 am. with a heavy breeze earlier and lasted for over 40 minutes.
Almost all parts of lagos metropolis witnessed the rain, which came with a cooling effect on the harsh situation occasioned by dry weather.
Among the areas where it was recorded were, lekki, ajah, V.i, oshodi, all in lagos while it drizzled at some places in the state.
When contacted a friend who resides at ajah, Eti-osa local government area, Mr Bayo adewale, said that it was a great relief as “we are already melting as humans’’.
“We now have a cool atmosphere and is well cherished. The heat has been too much,’’ adewale said.
The rain served as a signal to farmers to begin clearing their farmlands in preparation for planting crops.
