A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has sentenced former National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Olisa Metuh to seven years imprisonment each on the 7 count charge of money laundering
The Court sentences Olisa Metuh to 7 years imprisonment on 3-counts, 5 years on another 2 counts and 6 years on remaining 2 counts to run concurrently
The court also the account of Olisa Metuh company dextra investment and order that the company should be wound up .
The court earlier convicted found Olisa Metuh guilty of all the charges filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).The EFCC charged Metuh alongside his company, Destra investment, with seven counts of money laundering and diversion of funds he received from the office of the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki (rtd).
The trial judge Justice Okon Abang acknowledged Dasuki’s role in the criminal breach of trust and corruption in office which Metuh committed.
He said the former PDP spokesman lacked any documentary evidence to show that former president Jonathan authorised Dasuki to release N400 million to Metuh.
